I'm headed to Europe in late July and I'm hoping to sneak off to Verdon for a couple days.

Was hoping I could get some beta from the good folks on RC.

What are conditions like that time of year?
Should I bring a small rack?
Do I need a 70 meter rope?
What's the best English (or Spanish) language guide?

Thanks for any and all recommendations.

I visited in late May and it was hot; I'm from AZ. So I expect late July to be hot too. Chase shade!

Loved the climbing and the gite we used. Camping is also good I hear. We bought a french guide in the town of La Palud, easy to figure out with lot of photos to orient yourself to raps and climbs. Doubles were in evidence but many used 70s as did we. I brought a rack but didn't use it. You could on some routes though but we avoided them.
