agreed the grading scales is subjective by area and person.I always give plus or minus 10%to 20% later.

How did you expect people to take your comment? I guess I did come across as an a-hole, but I can't stand it when climbers make cocky comments. Quote: "You need to diversify your climbing resume and go buy a rack. Then you can call yourself a climber." How did you expect people to interpret that statement? Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Ha Ha!

I sport climb, I gym climb, I top rope, and I lead trad. Of course not all at the same level. The lowest (grade-wise only!!!) common denomenator is trad and that is the level of climber I consider myself to be. Also, I could not agree more about the hilarity of a "rack of quickdraws" (Cali dirtbag)..... Sport climbers are way to sensitive, just because 10 quickdraws is not a rack and trad climbing the same grade is harder (much!!) does not make sport climbing any less fun or legitimate. A final note....if the climber says he climbs 5.9 and he is from West Virginia (near Seneca), he can kick your 5.11a sport climbing ass if you are from SF/Bay Area!!!!
