I had planned on going to a fitness club locally where they have a 40' wall. And my gym bag, with all my gear, with the exeption of my harness, and a couple of quickdraws, was stolen in the lobby while signing up for a membership. WHAT THE F*CK!!! I hate people here, such thieves. What am I suppost to do now? I was so hoping to go climbing in the near future considering the weather is nailing it quite well around here. I guess maybe what I'm trying to say, if anybody has any spare gear of all sorts, mainly trad, I'll be possibly willing to purchase it from you. This isn't a classified ad, it's a distress call. If I could afford to buy it all new, I would. Thanks for whatever help you can give me. Climb on... Steve in salem (sucks)

That sucks man, I got some spare ACC cord (9mm) extra wild country rocks sizes 4,5,6,7,8,9,10... I'll sell it all for five dollars, that should cover shipping. I don't mind, too bad what happened. Rye

I just checked out your profile, or what's there of it, and I'm wondering if you're the same Ryan Buhter (SPC) that served with 3rd ID while in Bosnia? That would be weird if you were, sorry don't mean to be rude if you're not, but just wondering. Steve

I know what you are feeling. If you have to deal with an insurance company now, brace yourself. You are gonna feel like the bad guy by the time they have finished with you.

Check e-bay and the outdoor gear resale shops in your area. My boyfriend had a bunch of the Yates grand-daddy sized cams stolen from his truck. Within a day of them getting stolen, someone came into the resale shop with a bunch of Yates cams and not much of an idea what he had. Cops were called. Cams were recovered. Doesn't always happen but sometimes.

Holy sh*t gerard, it's really you??? Where the hell you been living? I tried to call you a year ago and you're friend said you were out climbing somewhere with you're cousin in california... I thought I'd never hear from you again. This is for real? Whoa... Seriously though, when did you ETS? I left Ft. Benning 6 days ago, served one whole year with 3rd Ranger Bat. It wasn't my game. Check your e-mail, I've got a little extra gear I'm willing to donate. I'm feeling a little generous since my house was just broken into, my neighbors called the cops and they caught him in the act. Pass along the good karma when you can.

hey steve, i'll help you out, I know you're in need, i remember climing with you on morning glory wall over at smith in oregon last month, you did quite well, and in order to pass on the good fortune, i'll send you a few things that i KNOW you need, it's okay, no charge. i sent you a pm, so check it if you haven't already. If anybody here can just spare ANYthing to help steve out with, I've climbed with him before and he's a very cool person and nice to everyone and isn't picky about pretty much anything. (must have been the military food you ate steve) T.

That really blows! Hopefully karma will come along and kick his ass on some rock while using the gear he stole from you.

The gear isn't all that was taken. My wallet, some money, my running shoes, and a watch. I don't care about all that except the wallet, I got replacement on all the rest, I just have to get a new driver license, and subway card (With ALL my stamps!!!) Steve.

I've been monitoring this website for quite some time now, and i can say, all the trad vs. sport vs. gym b.s. aside, I have had the pleasure of witnessing some of the most selfless acts of kindness i have ever been privy to. It makes me proud to call myself a climber. You all rock, and I hope to perhaps climb with some of you some day. Anyway, good luck Steve, and climb on.

Easysteve, straightface, and tradninety are all the same person. If you check the profile, they all have the same e-mail address and they all have the same ip addresses associated with posts. I feel that this has been a little deceiving, whether or not the theft happened and that the people sending gear to easysteve should know this.
