3 days at the NRG. Many routes were crushed, other things were as well, like my hopes and dreams... Climbing rocks is hard

I actually feel pretty good about where I'm at given how little I've climbed in the last 6 months. Elbow feels good and I seem to only lost about two letter grades plus some endurance. Should be able to get that back quickly enough. Weather was amazing. It has been in the 80's lately buy a cold front came thru with very little rain associated with it. Nights were in the low 40's, days were in the 60's.

It was more like an avaliability than a comit, and I haven't heard back from him. Thinking about just heading out by meself. Looking for partners or just go hiking. The wife and daughter is under the weather. Well so am I, only a litle, but I am in de-nile. So she is only going up town one day. I have been assigned Birthday party patrol for me #2 trash talking boy on Sunday. Maybe both boys on Sat. So no klimbing fer donny. So I'll try to renegotiate my rockclimbing get away with the wife. Pray for my success... Well, the weekend was what it was. Origonaly the wife was going to visit her fam for the weekend. But she was a bit under the weather so she only went Sun. And I got no climbing. Just because I got no cimmits... Otherwise not to to bad. Took one boy over to his freind for a bday party sat. Washed my two 60 m ropes. Took other boy (trash talker) to Boomers for another bday party Sun. Boomers like a bigger kid chuck e cheese, plus outdoors venues, mini golf and carnaval rides. Went to REI, nothing needed or new there. Lines where half the way to the back of the store. Least I didn't half to go to the outlaws, since I had bday party patrol. Trash talker and I picked him up a mess kits for his scout campouts. Booked DnM for next weekend. Am looking forward to a relaxing weekend away in LV doing not much. Didn't catch up on as much sleep as I hoped. Did get the wife to agree to let me go climbing for a long weekend at a later date. The trick of course to find a date where, I'm free, not tied up at work, not tied up at home, and I can coerce someone else to go climbing with me.

So speaking of washing ropes. As I noted I washed my 2 60m ropes. Used the Sterling Wicked rope wash. Just dunked and sloshed them in a plastic tub. Got a ton of dirt out. Rinsed them about 6-8 times each, and by the end very little soap film in the water. But they still had a soapy feeling film on them as they dried. Any one else notice this. Any recommendations on what to do? Use a diff soap? Let them soak overnight for the last rinse off? Is it just the way they feel when damp? Or???

I have no idea if that film is good or not. sorry

[image]http://wpb.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/31/2012/08/ferris-bueller-boring.png[/image] I never liked washing my ropes. Yeah, it works to get the dirt off, but I've always found it took a long time to dry them. I have no idea if that film is good or not. sorry I like washing the ropes occasionally. My thinking goes. Get the dirt out, with less dirt there is less wear, and ropes last longer. Yea they take a long time to dry. But I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. Thinking back now, I pretty sure the last time I washed one it got a film on it. The concern there is the soap will hold the dirt and the rope gets dirtier faster. Defeating the purpose.
