Hey guys im planing on going to Marquette to Northern Michingan University for a masters degree for 2 years, and I would love to know if there are some crags around there to climb/boulder and also if there are any gyms in town. Any info would be very much appreciated. Greetings and thanks

Hey man, enjoy the UP. It's an amazing place. I definitely encourage you to get in with the local climbing community there. A lot of the kids at Norther Michigan U in Marquette climb all over the area. They also have a decent top rope gym. Silver Mountain was a great place to climb at, but it's primarily trad/top rope. I'm not sure about places closer to Marquette, but I have heard they exist. The NMU kids would know better. Take a dip in superior for me!

The UP's Silver Mtn has some new bolted routes on it. I think it is going to be getting more routes too.
