My friends and I are planning a trip down to Seneca Rocks next week. We have only been climbing for a few months and are looking for some areas with access to top roping climbs, preferably in the 5.7-5.10 range. Anyone know of some good areas?

There aren't very many options for toproping at Seneca. Your best bet is probably going to be the Lower Slabs. I confess I haven't climbed in that area of Seneca, so I can't recommend specific routes.

North Peak, East Face has a handful of moderates that are pretty easy to access and set-up, although you will need gear and some long pieces of webbing and/or perlon. You can hike the tourist trail to the top and walk around to the east side for easiest access and to avoid Cardiac Hill.

I think you would have more options at the New, and much more of a chance of having someone hang your rope on a route for you. The two easiest crags for rigging without leading are Junkyard and the Bridge area. Because of easy access, they can get crowded.
