I am 4 days short of my 8-year anniversary, but since I don't come around very often, I figured I'd better go ahead and speak up. I noticed that I have fallen off the first page of the top post count whores.

This is my original account, which I finally stumbled across just recently. Most of the posts seem to have been deleted, probably due to inactivity. There were a good number of them. I was very active for a couple years, then I got tired of the infighting and BS and left for a long time. When I came back, I couldn't find my account, so I had to make a new one. (Vegasclimber10) When I came back, it didn't take long to figure out that most of the crap that caused me to leave was even more so, so I mostly just lurk. It's better that way.

I see rc.com like a mine. You have to sift throug tons and tons of dirt, but when you find a nugget of wisdom, its worth it...

Holy crap... been registered to this site for over 10 years. wow, a lot has happened in that time, and oddly enough I can thank this stupid website for a bunch of that. Met two of my best friends and my wife through this site, not to mention a bunch of other friends and acquaintances. Most of which i'm still in touch with, many i'm not. This site and the people on it were instrumental in getting my first bigwall project off the ground, something that i consider a life altering event, not to mention contributing heavily to a bunch of other trips. I'll admit though... the appeal of climbing as a web forum interest has kind of died off. I just can't think of anything climbing related worth posting about, and maybe i'm finally grown up enough that i don't need to post rad climbing related photos or other spray in order to feel validated. I spend most of my forum time over on pirate4x4.com, and lately i've been logging back into reefcentral.com for a bit. join date at that site is 12/05/2000!! from a topical perspective, building a hot rod antique 4x4 just simply has a lot more technical aspects worthy of engaging forum discussion, i can say the same about saltwater aquariums. climbing, kind of like my other outdoor sports (downhill mountain biking and skiing), appears to work better with a more facebook like interface. "dude, killer pow day at mary jane", my friends 'like' it, but it wouldn't make much of a thread.

I burned out on climbing forums a few years ago, and haven't been on here in two or three years, but this thread made me smile. Looks like it's coming up on ten years for me later this year. (Feel guilty though for the folks who sent me messages about climbing in Japan after I stopped visiting, and who never got answers. Ah well.)

Don't know why, but came onto this site for the first time in a few years. Like others, flushed out several years ago from rc.com. Quit climbing for a few years: dogs, fatherhood, getting run over by a car will have that effect on you. Back to bouldering, which is killing my shoulders (I'm old, get off my lawn!). Always considered myself lucky to have been infected by the climbing virus. Edit: Oh, and registered 12 years ago, bitches!

Brent Nice to see the whippersnapper referring to "old" names. On the up side, I suppose I visit RC.com more than facebook now. FB free for 10 months, 11 years since joining RC.com, and approx 4 months to ice season

Apparently I have been around for more than 8 years. I still remember my first 'job' where I managed to rack up something like 3000 posts in 3 months. Good times. At least I'm climbing again now! Barely read rc.com as, aside from the forums (some of them if you look hard) the content here sucks. Hope everybody else is doing well!

Woah. First time I've logged in for a long while, jumped straight to campground to see what's going on, and here's this thread sitting right up top. Weirdness. Anyway, I banged up my head about 18 months ago and wasn't doing anything but getting fat. I started losing weight and seriously jonesing for a climb recently. Humph, I guess I passed 10 years while I wasn't paying attention. Man, I'm old.
