RIP rc.com

We met and were friends for a many years in early 2000's, but lost track when parting ways due to, well, let's not talk bad about the dead.

I will say that through rc.com, I had met some of the best climbing people a that time. Some I still see now and then, which bring back to memory my old friend, rc.

Jammer ...

Cripes! What happened to this place? ...or perhaps I should ask, "Is there a thread that addresses/summarizes what happened to this place?"
An acquaintance of mine recently died. To avoid bothering his family when they're barely back to work, I came on here to see if any info showed up in in the A&IA forum.
...and now it looks like RC.com has passed on as well? Damn shame. I hope it was just that people were moving on or something and not that RC.com went belly-up because of anything nasty.
Regardless, all the best to everyone!

I used to log into this site daily, when the owner(s) actually cared about this site.

This used to be a good place for everything... new gear stories, partners, and good ole rants and raves.

Now I check in about once a year to see if this place is still in existence... it is existing, but it's basically a vegetable.

This site could be so much more... so much.

[Edited to fix my odd spelling]

It is sad yet funny, I have not been here in at least two years, hardly anything new and surprised it still hangs on!
This is the perfect post for this once great climbers central!
It is sad rc.com was a good friend that shared a lot of information and met some old timers like myself. Now it seems people want you to describe each route down to the hand/foot hold! What happened to adventure and discovery??

A great ride while you lasted rc.com!

Are you looking for a photographer ??

Congratulations to the new owner of RockClimbing.com. You've successfully let this site wither away into nothingness :(

Oh man this website was my climbing log and go to day dreaming spot in my formative climbing years and between studying in college.... I just downloaded my climbing history log as I have been horrible at recording my climbs in recent years and it would be a shame to lose all my comments on the routes I've done. Looks like the cool tracking charts don't work any more.

Adding my condolences, this site really affected my life for several years, and helped me feel connected to a climbing community for even more years.

Sungam I remember your adventures, didn't you come to the US and navigate the country with several members on this site?

I will always remember RC.com fondly, and as always, yer gonna die! :)
