I dont know about the butt chaffing but I do know it gets cold and snowy here. I cant even climb outside unless I want to ice climb but I need equipment. I prefer to drive to the gym. I would ake it like a man but it is 12 degrees right now. And the gym is a nice 72 degrees.

Hey clerma, welcome back. Try a search for this topic. There is a really good discussion going on it somewhere in the forum... I don't remember there, but it has all kinds of tips for beating the cold. AW

Times like this I am glad I live in Arizona. The climbing is pretty much year round here. I guess I shouldn't be whining about climbing in 65 degree weather.

My parents just bought a cabin about a mile away from Tahquitz Rock down in So. Cal. so I have a feeling I'll be making several trips down there this winter. Rock climbing, mountain climbing, climbing out of the hot tub, I can't wait.

The way I figure it is... if you can't climb year round in Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky then you don't stand a chance baggin any 14ers in Colorado. So a year round climber here. I won't stop till the heat drops in... then I will probably go hide in the AC or head for the mountains. Andy p.s. Welcome back clerma!

I enjoy winter bouldering more than summer bouldering. Seems more refreshing. Too much still time for roped climbing to stay warm though.

there is ice climbing, then the gunks stays pretty clear, as long as the sun shines i hear it is pretty tolerable in the winter. seeing as how it is almost december and its still in the 50's. i just need to get partner to leave his wife so he can climb more than 1x a month down there!
