Williamson Rock will be in the Pleasant View wilderness area if the new California Wilderness Act is approved. I am ambivalent about this. just letting others know.

Well for starters it will likely mean registering for a Wilderness Entry Permit (no cost) before entering and it may limit the number of people in the area. The idea is to preserve the area as natural and control access and human impact. Certain activities may be curtailed. Bolting routes comes to mind. Stay tuned.

Keep an eye out for hearings. I'll be checking with the District Ranger's office and post any info that becomes available.

Just spoke with the good folks at Angelus National Forest and they had no information or even knowledge of any proposed wilderness Area near Williamson or Kratka. Where did the inital report come from?
