Is it my imagination or can you used silicone based household bath sealer to seal a portaledge fly?

From general household experience, bathtub sealer seems to peel off fairly easily whereas seamseal is almost impossible to remove...

What are you talking about?

The seams? You use Seam Grip product and nothing else.

As for the waterproofing itself, Ask Russ Walling.

And while you are asking him, ask him when the HAIL I am going to get my portaledge bed! My crab-O-ledge is falling apart after a hundred and seventy nights, and I need a new place to hang my crab.
