devils lake, wisconsin. but if you dont want to wait until spring catch a flight to palm springs and take a course with the joshua tree rock climbing school or vertical adventures at j-tree. with some good weather it will be the experience of a lifetime.

Summersville Lake, W.V. is great if your interested in lead climbing they have about (4) routes from 5.7 to 5.9 that are rite next to each other. They are short and the bolts are about 8ft. apart on all four.

If your looking for a top rope look to the New River area. Some of the areas are easier to get up and down when changing routes.

I have been to the Red River Gorge, KY. once. It has some good lead climbing but the top roping sucks.

If you can get to the Gunks, it is the best. Try Boulder (the 3rd) or shelf road in colorado.

From Chicago go to Devils Lake WI, Wild Iowa, or the best of them all Jackson Falls. Contact either pianomahn, hardcoredana, andy_lemon or anybody else from that area. Jackson Falls would be the best if you want to start leading bolted routes and do some trad. Devils lake is a pretty strict area and has alot of top roping and trad climbs. Not many bolts though.
