one word: SCHOOL!
And not even then, always...I mean, when the free university climbing gym is a 10 minute bus ride away, and some quality ice climbing and ice bouldering is 5 minutes away from your dorm...I can do that math proof later....I can write that program tomorrow....

Nothing. A fractured heel from bouldering took me out for about a week after Xmas but after a week I just said screw the pain and taped the hell out of it and kept going. Much to the chagrin of my physical therapist.
Well, there was a non-climber boyfriend in November/December that I was really really into, took one weekend to go to Santa Barbara with him. But that's over now.

Knee surgery day after Thanksgiving,three weeks and I was climbing again.Finger cut to the bone,back to climbing two days after I got it stitched.Brain surgery,what is rock climbing again?

the thing that keeps me from the rocks most is my location. JACKSON MISSISSIPPI!!!! the flattest place on the planet. its a five hour drive to sandrock so i can only go about once a month. but i spend plenty of time in the local second-rate gym.

wait a sec...now that i think about it, i'm gonna take that one back. i'm all over the walls at my high school, and it's really gotten me in trouble a few times. but hey, if they're gonna keep me locked up and try to stop me from doing what comes as my natural instinct...it's their own dang fault!

God, I love them to death, but for me it's my kids and my family. My wife would never tell me "NO" you can't go climbing, but with my job and other responsibilities, sometimes other things are just higher on the priority list than climbing.
