I Did a search on this and found nothing. How small do you buy your anasazi velcros and how much do they stretch. I wear an eleven and was fitted to an eleven. It seems a bit odd because i was fitted to a 9.5 in my katanas.

when i owned then (before the fell apart and i returned them) i bought an 11, same as street size. they were nice and snug but did break in and stretch a little. i would go with a 10.5 and deal with the discomfort for the time, you'll be happy later with the performance when they're broken in.

I'd wait to get the new anasazi southwest, their like velcros but better check them out on www.fiveten.com :D

I bought my first pair too small hoping they would stretch but ended up selling them to a friend with smaller feet because it hurt too bad to use them. Point being, they are a synthetic shoe and will stretch little even once they are broken in. I have to agree with beercan and rec. you go with the 10.5. Good luck, it's a great shoe if it fits you feet.

I know what you're talking about. The Anasazi's (and 5.10 shoes) fit that way. I wear an 8.5 and have in the past bought two pair of toe-crunching 8.5's. These did not stretch hardly at all. The last pair I purchased was an 8.5 through mail-order and now wish I had purchased the 8. I put the new next to the old and there is little difference. What I did notice different was the agressive heel rand that forces your foot into the toebox seemed (to me) less agressive in the new shoe. In the past 5.10 has tried to resolve the fit of the heel cup in this shoe which is why they came out with the new version. I'm wondering if this is the case for the less aggressive band at the back????. If you have doubts try on the 1/2 size smaller and draw your own conclusion. You gotta love the anxiety of buying climbing shoes. It drives me freaking nuts.

My velcs are a half size smaller than my street shoe, and are only bearable for about 15 minutes or so.....just like I like them. But, I also have a pair of lace-ups, which are the same size as my street shoe.

anasazi velcros are supposedly the only shoe to climb 5.15 'supposedly' because Tommy Caldwell is the only person to climb the route in question, so the grade is not solidified yet.

Not to get off subject weasel but I think Sharma had the first questionable 15. I don't remember if Caldwell was wearing velcros. I thought he was wearing lace-ups.

One full size down.
No noticable stretch in a year.
Noticable smell however.
Toes are slightly curled with noticable pain after about two hours.

My experience is about the same as danger monkey's
one size down, not noticeable stretch, but noticeable stank from my feet/shoes. It's a very good climbing shoe.
I don't think there is any question as to the grade assigned Realization? And after reading about Flex Luthor (Caldwell's route) It seems like it'll be America's first 5.15. Woohoo! And he did it with half of his left index finger missing. I say good on him.

I hear ya Danger!!!!
My sazis' are a half size smaller than street....very little stretch, hella stank, and the toes are curling up a bit....(hmmmmm...maybe from the stank :?: )
All in all....I am pleased with them, though they definitly wear alot faster than any other shoe I have owned from 5.10!

I just ordered my first pair of climbing shoes witch are the acasazi velcros and i bought about a full size bigger then the street shoe
