I'll probably show up Friday night but I have to leave on Sat night. :-( If anyone needs a lift from Denver and those days work for you, let's carpool!

I'll be there AT LEAST Saturday and Sunday but I'm shooting for Friday night as well. All it would really take is someone who wants to go up on Friday night with me to make it a done deal. My PLAN is to leave here Friday evening and stay until Sunday night. BY THE WAY..... I have a 4 person tent (you can actuall fit 6 in a pinch) if anyone is in need of shelter. And, don't forget, I have room for more if anyone wants to jeep-pool. What are the camping regulations, areas, fees, etc.? How much beer and Jagermeister should I bring? What are the fire restrictions (if any)? And lastly, WHERE are we meeting. 11 Mile is a big area.

In reply to: What are the camping regulations, areas, fees, etc.? How much beer and Jagermeister should I bring? What are the fire restrictions (if any)? And lastly, WHERE are we meeting. 11 Mile is a big area. 1. There's a rumor going around that the cover charge is waived for those who show up topless. 2. Beer? Jager? Blech! Is it the cheap factor, or are all climber's unrefined dirtbags? :P Why is it that I never hear anyone offer to bring a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, a baguette and some triple creme brie? 3. As long as you aren't burning old love letters from you ex... 4. See the answer to number 1, and keep your eyes open. By the way, the first four people that show up to this shindig get to sample the November 2002 vintage of my very own "Marilyn's Moonshine" (part of the squeeeeeel like a pig line of redneck booze I've been making in my bathtub). That should be incentive enough to show up, right? (P.S. I have a special big bottle of Moonshine reserved for a certain fireman guy who has a sleeping bag with my name on it! )

Now im really kicking myself for going to LA next weekend. Bagettes, Brie, CabSav, Topless climbers, and Moonshine. I just need to really get out of the real world and back to the fun and laid back fantasy land i used to live in the past. Looks like I'll be headed up your way Skibabeage in the summer event. Next time I'll bring a flight of wines and cook up a storm of gastronomique delectables. Ugh. C'est la vie........

ok well I'm back and with some info 1. only camp ground open is called river side 1st one after entering the canyon 2. it is $7.00 per camp site with a max of 8 people per site 3. $4.00 per vehicle for a day pass 4. very little snow 5. plan on cold nights and possably a little chilly during the day 6. fire danger is low and from what I could tell no fire restirctions 7. fire wood is kind of few and far between so you might want to bring some of your own 8. there is no water or trash service so plan on bring in your own right now all the prices are concedered winter pricing (day pass is always $4) But it could change by next week who knows but as of today thats how it was.

Hey now! Why you gotta bring up the goat? I thought we agreed that it was "hush-hush" since Leadville was "out of bounds," meaning that goat sex was "OK." And by OK I mean GREAT. Anyway, I'm hoping to get to 11-mile around 5p.m. on Friday, so there'll still be plenty of sunlight left to do a few climbs!

Mike, Tracy...are either of you bringing your cell phones (or at least your radios)? I'm bringing Craig and I'm not familliar with the area (neither is he) but if I could call when I am close that would help. I can't find the Riverside Campground on any maps. Anyone have GPS or grid coordinates. Us military guys need grid plots not street directions. Hey skibby babe, update my status to Fri, Sat, and Sun. I'll be giving classes on tactical mapreading for nighttime operations, fieldcraft, cover and concealment, and counter sniper operations. Oh, and based on Mike's post about the goat....looks like goat steaks are on the menu. Hoorah. I guess you better add "field dressing a goat" to the classes I'll be instructing.

FYI, the GPS (WGS84 datum) coordinates for Lake George are as follows: 38.971333 lat and -105.359472 long. If nobody knows the GPS coordinates for the campsite, perhaps someone knows the bearing and distance from Lake George? I know I'm kinda "geekin out" here, but I need to know where to go and where to tell people that I'll be. I mean, what if there is an EMERGENCY....like....we need more beer dropped in from a C-130. Those things can't just come down county road 92 you know. Marine Corps saying: Even the WORST plan, carried out VIOLENTLY, can yield possitive results.

Hey gang, Looks like I will be able to attend. My plans are still floating, but right now I am planning to meet you all at the campground Saturday morning. I am looking forward to seeing some of you again, and finally meeting lots of other folks. I got my trad gear. Who wants to climb?

All these Military types deciding to show up makes me a little nervous :D http://www.rockclimbing.com/...mp.cgi?Detailed=8262 Somebody had better take some pictures so 11 mile canyon has a less embarrassing photo as its database representative. I am going to be showing up on Friday morning with tracyroach and I am looking forward to meeting more of you. And yes, mtngeo. I will find the correct trailhead this time so STFU!!!! :D

geo. . . yeah, bring your soloist! That'd be great! Are there any cracks down there in 11 mile, aside from the ones on the erect little soldiers above? I'm SERIOUS! If I can convince wiggle and anyone else that would be so kind, to bring a long some aid equip, I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to do some soloing. I'd be happy practicing on a bolt ladder for goats sake since I lack a trad rack. I REALLY need to change that aspect of my life.

Let me start by answering my own question. Riverside Campground is located at 38.960194 lat -105.374166 long (WGS 84). That's for those who haven't been there before that plan to find it by GPS. Then let me address MTNGEO. I don't really know you at ALL but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm assuming you are just joking and are not trying to be disrespectful. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) If that is the case, ok, the reference to the picture was pretty funny. For those of you who DON'T know.....BOHICA is a acronym for Bend Over Here It Comes Again. Come to think of it, you usually only hear that in the Navy. MTNGEO, are you a Seaman (snicker)?
