For anyone who hasn't heard: "Frederic Nicole made history on Monday when he flashed Massive Attack (V13) at the Magic Wood in Switzerland. He's the first to flash the grade." The guy is amazing, I'm thoroughly impressed.

Oh yeah well I flashed a couple of old ladies in the park on Saturday night. Would you believe I shone a flashlight on an unsuspecting amorous couple, no. What about a couple of boyscouts making too much noise so I shone my flashlight on them. (You have to be a Get Smart fan to understand). ...Phil...

I'm not sure what the rateing on dreamtime actually is now. but i've seen it been rated at v14 and v15. All the people i talk to refuse to except the 15. But i say, if the man can flash a 13 he damn sure can redpoint a 15 and its only a matter of time til he does a 16. I have no doubt in my mind that by the time he is done, he will have put a few more 15's and atleast one 16. He is amazing, he is climbing at top level so much, its unreal. He is a bouldering god. btw, so what does the rating of dreamtime go at these days?

Fred Rouhling just made a 8b+ traverse (between a 8c+ sport and a 8b Font, so it must be around V13 too. This traverse is Joyeux Léon at La Balmaz, Switzerland. He is now working on Dreamtime. And Dave Graham climbed a 8b Font / V13 in Fontainebleau, named Satan i Helvete (???) From Grimper #69, may 2003.

Dreamtime is V15 (or 8c), nothing else. It's the benchmark V15 and has been repeated by Zangerl, Graham, Sharma, Willenberg and Core. A few more V15's has also springed up in the past 12 months; Black Eagle SD (F Nicole; unrepeated), New Base Line (Zangerl; repetitions by Nicole, Graham), Viva la Evolution (Zangerl; unrepeated), Transdendenz (Willenberg; unrepeated). There are a couple of more boulders out there that labelled V15 (by Frigault, Gaskins, Moser, Bock and Muroi), I'm not really sure about their legitimacy since all of those stand unrepeated and none of those guys have done another V15. :?

I think an investigation is in order. We need to check and see if this climb was aided by the new technological wonder of "Gecko" tape. Hmmmmmm. :o

no one can flash a v15. If that was possible, it would no longer be a v15...since that is the hardest grade at the moment. If that were possible, then it would be possible for someone to climb higher than that...say v17...which doesn't exist at the moment. Therefore, it is physically impossible for anyone to flash a v15 right now. I flashed a v2 once
