Does anyone know what the 6-7ft roof just above jellyroll arch goes at? I climbed it yesterday and it felt alot harder than 5.8 or 5.9. Thanks for the help
John

I climbed it last year and to the best of my knowledge it goes at 5.8. Where was your crux?

OK, the 'where was your crux?' part was stupid, the roof... sorry. Still, I think it goes at 5.8

The guidebook topo shows that it goes at 5.9

Thanks for the replys. I know that there are 3 diffrent exits out of Jellyroll arch. The Roof I was talking about is the one right above the little tree at the top of the 5.8 section. Heck it very well might be 5.8 and I am just weak sauce but it sure felt alot harder than any other 5.8 or 5.9's I've done. Thanks for the input though.

Every time I've done it I've gone left of the tree. You kind of traverse over an arete (use a sling to prevent the drag) and there is an amazing crack that goes at a stiff 5.8.

jcol, everyone I know that pulls the roof finds it really awkward and gives it a solid 5.9. I am pretty confident at that grade and had to down climb it a number of times before pulling through so I think it is more than just weak sauce. Or maybe I'm just a puss too.
