Does anyone know of a RC gathering in the area? Would like to meet more people with the same interest and thought a gathering would be a good place to do so. let me know. thanks 8)

You poor bastard. I was paroled from that purgatory back in '98. At least you're only about 2.5 hours from RRG.

Whatever you do, don't have it in a gym, don't even consider it. Outdoors is the only way to go. I know that the quantity of climbing is limited, so going outside of the state might be a pretty good idea.
If it stays in state, a bouldering gathering might be in order. A little easier to plan and you wouldn't have to find a place with enough routes to keep everyone happy. Just my two cents from up north in Cleveland.

any part of WV works for me....NRP, NRG, whatever. i would probably vote for later, say fall, as a time because of the weather, but i am open to just about anytime.

New River seems great, cuz I'm kinda a beginner..but by then (fall) I should have been outdoors a few times. So fall sounds good to me. Have any of you guys gotten together before, do any of you already know each other?

well i think i brought up WV, sort of as a joke at first to be honest, but there really isn't anything in ohio worth a "gathering". WV is close, and has damn good rock.

Well here is the big question then. Does someone wish to plan it? Lets see if we can get this off the ground. I would like to meet some people from the community. I have not been climbing that long so I am learning allot as time goes by. Just started sport climbing and hope to get into trad next year but time will tell. Well enough of that, let me know if someone wants to plan this gathering, or how you all want it to come together.

Well I think we decided on New River Gorge so far. And I was checking www.climbwv.com and there is a bouldering comp on October 18th. That might be a great time to meet. wadya all think 'bout that? I could also help do some planning I guess too...whats everybody's budget like for travel?
