As soon as i get my pad, I am going to do a HUGE celtic knot on it. They are my hobby, so it would be a cool project. One question though... I am getting a cordless D-lux pad, and since it has the carpet on it, how well can you draw on it?

Someone should (although undoubtedly already has) try sending a crashpad to a screen printer (like for T-shirts). You could have virtually any design put on it and have it come out looking awesome. Just an idea that I wanna do, but am without cash to do it

I have one question though. For the celtic knot that I am going to put on mine, i need some sort of utensil that I can write on it, but then be able to erase it completely. Also, again... can you draw on the carpet on a cordless pad okay?

KTWO - Yes, I used magic marker on my 'furry' cordless just fine. I'd recommend figuring out where you want the 'non' places of your celtic knot drawing to be and not draw there. Make a paper template real sized and you should be fine - send a photo of it when you are done - love to see it - great idea!

My pad has (in big Red letters, trimmed in Black) "THIS IS NOT A LANDING ZONE!" Or maybe for yours, "CAUTION, CONTAINS GLASS" Perhaps, if you like prAna, the horns, or the hollow horns. Maybe the Ropegun (tribal) symbol. One of my friends has "I LOVE THE CARE BEARS" on his... Lots of laughs from that one.

Like the hairy spider, I feel the concept should not make you comfortable with the idea of falling on it. How about: Mr. T with the caption: "Hey boy, you look mighty good in them jeans." An open manhole or alligator pit caption: acme portable hole A Yosemite Sam Back off A la mudflaps Michael jackson, you know, something repulsive. I just drew a sweet Norse design on my Cordless D-LUX with a Sharpie. It's been about 12 hours now, but it still rubs off onto my finger a little when I run my hand across the design. Does anyone else with art on a Cordless have this problem? Or will it dry up completely in another 12 hours? Thanks, Justin

Instead of wasting time trying to make your crashpad look cooler go bouldering!

In reply to: ...don't ask me what it's supposed to be. It's a copy of Keith Haring's style of art. He's pretty well-known, and pretty darn good. I like the way it looks on the pad too.

YOu can use acrylic paints for material/fabric paints. Comes in a variety of colors plus if you want to be fancy shmancy you can go with glow in the dark, 3-d (works with an iron) or slimy/shiny paint. (I've painted climbing t-shirts before this way). For how to's: draw a "transfer" on a 3M clear plastic sheet, turn it over and retrace your drawing on its reverse side with a red pencil or white crayon (media that will rub off ).Place it down (crayon/pencil side down onto the mat)so you are now looking at your drawing correctly as you want it. Retrace your original with a sharp pencil and press, so that the crayon side or red pencil will rub off onto your mat, and you'll have the outline of your original. Chose pencil/crayon that will show up on the mat's fabric (fuzzy? plain cotton?) or ...more simple.....can doodle or sketch and copy with white sidewalk chalk which comes off if you goof....or outline design with painter's or masking tape .Then when ready, paint away with paint pens. (any paint store or as always, Walmart has everything )and... don't forget to let it dry first before you land on it!!!!!!
