Well, I knew there were some strong gym climbers/sport climbers/boulderers in Salt Lake.....but after several visits to Rockreaton over the last few weeks.....I'm jawstruck. That's when you're awestruck and your jaw drops so hard it hurts... I'm especially impressed by the number of women climbing hard....at least harder than me! But where do you all go when it gets warm? I never see anyone one the HARD routes in Little Cottonwood..... what's up with that? I'd love to see someone on some of the hard 11 cracks 11/12/13 bolted lines.... There must be more sport lines waiting to be climbed! C'mon you hardpeople, show me something outside this spring.... besides the Hell Cave or Maple.....

I reckon that "Fallen Arches" is "HARD". Seen plenty of folks this autumn on that shizzle. BTW: check the Front for more crazystrong climbers.

In reply to: Post on Utahclimbers.com and you will meet some hard-persons. Or, he could follow you around for a day or two...ha ha... Hey, movie star...didn't know you had a film crew with you the other day...how'd that footage turn out? Kids seem to trip out for the weekends...and head to beyond the wasatch front (the range and the gym...). Sometimes on week nights you can catch folks on harder routes in the canyons... But, yeah, I'm blown away by the sheer volume of strong climbers in the city of the salty lake. Of course, everyone looks strong from down here... Its also kind of a cool vibe...that folks just don't seem to care, externally at least, too awful much about grades and seem to be psyched even for those of us gettin' bouted on that V0-. Its a rather "nice", friendly community. See ya at Rockreation (was there last night). Brian in SLC

They weren't "with" me, they just showed up and wanted to film....funny story about that I need to tell you in private. Anywho, I haven't seen the footage, but they shot from the ground, so it's probably not that great. Janelle shot with our mini DV and that turned out OK. If you haven't heard, they're having a "premiere" of the film this weekend: http://www.flamingeyeproductions.com Will be lots of bolts and crazy $hit that's of little value to us mountain men. Nevertheless, I'll probably go if I'm in town.

Aha...(thought they'd spend all weekend editing...)...might could hit it on the way back from climbing on saturday...hmmm.... Dude, you need to upgrade the outfit so yer more photogenic...all black with a dark helmit just ain't cuttin' it...(can barely see you in the shots I took from the rim...but...was as much a distance thing). Get some day glo duds... Or do like Nate and slap on a white t-shirt... Film should be fun...I've seen the footage of Nathan takin' a whipper...pretty gnarly...(and way too funny....)... Brian in SLC the man in black... http://mtncommunity.org/...4033d5204a4646f0.jpg

"So you wonder why I always dress in black? why you never see bright colors on my back? ...I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back, 'till things are brighter, I'm the Man in Black" But honestly, I buy whatever is on sale...I actually wanted one of those bright yellow drytooling tops (like yours), but they only had black the day I was there.

That's the thing about SLC. No matter how good you are there is always someone better. Especially when you suck as hard as me.

Yeah thats true. But the same is true anywhere. Tooele is kinda small and I am like the last place man all the time. It sucks. I dont even dare venture to SLC in fear the women will destroy me too.
