If you don't mind posting, how much did you pay for materials? (including holds)

Heck, if I had holds, I would donate them to you, Jooky. A guy who works that hard deserves a little community support!

just thought of this...it probably would have been much easier if you had painted the plywood before constructing it...can't imagine why it wouldn't have been done this way.

Acutally, there is a good reason...

From experience, it is easier to do it once it's up. Look at all the plywood there, it would be hard to lay all of it out to paint it at one time. You don't have to worry about paint in the t-nut holes if you use a roller and are a bit careful.

yeah, i guess laying it all out could present a problem. I'm used to building stuff in a workshop w/ a huge stage as space to lay stuff out on....

My god!
I am soo jealous!

Even the t-nuts alone for that thing must have cost a fortune! How much did you spend total thus far, if you don't mind me asking?

How high is it?

Kudos Jookyhead!! on the fantastic wall it turned out great! I am sure that you will be pullin' holds there for quite some time, if you can keep the neighborhood kids off it long enough. Rather than offering suggestions, and should have's I would like to ask you, now that your wall is done, and you have spent some time climbing on it, is there anything that you wish you would have done? Advice for others based on your experience. What role did you play in the design? Again congrats on the project!!!!

jooky, you obviously have the skills to make your owm holds. use a 2 part polyurathane casting resin (look in the phone book under "plastics"). 2 equal parts(a&b) mixed 2gether harden in about 2-3 minutes. pour this into the silicone mold you have made of your favorite climbing holds. you will have hundreds of holds for PENNIES! the silicone is available at the same place you locate the resin. in the L.A. area the resin runs <$200 for 10 gallons(5 gal of part A, 5 of B) & the silicone about $125. virtually identical to the expensive name brand ones. I also make holds for my ice tools so i can dry tool. any questions PM me.

Incredible, Nice job! Now what if it rains, won't the wood warp or are you pre-treating the wood? ... Impressed, I wanna climb it, too!
