Are manteling moves that bad for your shoulders? Several climbers have said its a good way to injure your shoulder mucles. Is this true? I have had no sign of trouble yet and do want to advance in this area as many good boulder routes end in a mantel. Nothing quite like a heal hook, no holds, and only a press up to send.

Mantles are only bad for you if certain muscle groups arn't strong enough yet. Shananigans is what others told you, don't let the man get you down brother!

HAha, well, climbing in general can be a good way to injure lots of body parts! NO mantles are not bad for your shoulders. start with very short mantles and work up. Try it on the kitchen counter. Keep gradually working your mantle higher and higher. don't over do it.
