There is a climbing gym in Jacksonville. A few of us take road trips all the time to Rocktown and Horsepens. Occasionally Fosters. You should check out the gym in J-ville (904)398-9808.

I just moved down here and am looking to hook up with other people to train (campus boarding, bachar ladder, bouldering, etc.). I'm also interested in trying to get a climbing gym started in the Sarasota area.
I don't care if you're beginner, advanced or Open category climber. I'm looking for a group of climbers interested in supporting each other in our personal climbing goals. I'm way more of a sport climber, though I have climbed more trad areas like Devils Tower, S.D. Needles, and Eldorado Canyon, Colorado. I fit in with more than one climbing group.
Looking to parter on some trips to climbing areas I haven't yet seen. What's in Georgia? Anyone know?

The closest gym to Dade City is Vertical Ventures in Tampa. Not the tallest gym (22ft), but GREAT BOULDERING! Check out verticalventures.com for info. Careful, Floridians can pull.

Just about to graduate from FSU, we've got a good little community of climbers here. The gym stays pretty active, for its size at least, and a lot of the climbers are willing and anxious to travel for some outdoor climbing. I'll be moving back to Pensacola for the summer actually. If you didn't know already, there is a small gym (more of just a climbing wall really) in Pensacola. It's called Weatherford's Outback, located in Weatherford's outfitter shop, off of Cervantes/Scenic Highway.

Since you're in Pensacola, why waste your time driving 8 hours to Melbourne (or anywhere in the southern part of the state)? Shoot, don't even waste your time on I-10 to JAX, that's still about 5 hours.
There's a good gym in Mobile, about 45 mins west. You can also drive 4-5 hours north and get on some great rock in North Alabama :D

Yeah, HP40 is about 5 hours from Pensacola, you'll enjoy that a lot more than driving 5 hours to Jacksonville...
Where is the gym in Mobile? I didn't realize yall had one.

I have a 12' x 16' wall that I'm looking to expand. I've got 8' x 8' on an adjustable angle and I'd like to get some people to climb with. I'm in Hudson, FL about 35 min. North of Tampa around New Port Richey area.

I just moved to Florida from Minnesota. My wife and I live in Clearwater, just west of Tampa. I've gone to the gym locally, but would love to know about places out of state. If anyone is looking for a climbing partner, let me know too.

um, no need to go to mobile or melburne, there is a good gym IN pensacola...Weatherford's Outback on Cervantes Blvd (850) 469-9922, owned by Dave Dodson. indoor and outdoor (leadable)...

Great to see that there are a number of rc folks from Florida. The YMCA in Jacksonville (South Metro Branch) has 5,000 sq. ft of wall. I'm there 5 or 6 afternoons a week.
As tough as it is to find partners, anytime you want to form a group, post the announcement in the regional section. I am going to Foster Falls Friday 6/25, with my family. This time I don't need a partner, but I would love to meet new people.
