In reply to: Hey Organic and Greenspace, We should hook up that weekend 9th, 10th in So. Ill. I don't really want to go to JF. as I want to Trad, aid and boulder, because that weekend is right before I leave for Yosemite. Not much sport climbing out there. I could do Drapers, or we could climb at my secret area, 115 ft. routes. Cheers!! haha I love the secret area thing so mysterious! Anyways the 10th is a monday I think, wondering if you knew that, and I need to go to graduation for someone on the 9th so I cannot leave till after it is over! But if you know the 10th is a monday and want to meet up I would not mind hitting up drapers at all or even your "secret area". should I send my cams out to get reslung or keep them and just cordolette for the time being? hmm anyways laters

Ok how about 15th and 16th?? That is th last weekend I will be able to climb in So. Ill. until the fall. I have to go to my sister’s graduation on the 8th. The secret area is really just a ploy to get you way out in the woods to the "cabin of horrors" where my 3 inbred cousins will do unspeakable things to you and yor friends, after which we will drink antifreeze and pay tribute to the awsome red power of Belzebub!!

mono- my fiance and i will most likely be up at the lake, doin some easy trad, getting back into it, ya know? we might TR some hard stuff, but we've been doing that for a while now and need to bust out the hardware. PM me if you want to meet up. Jon ps- we might do a few mock multi-pitch routes, as well.

That might be fun to meet up there with you guys. Do you have any idea where you'll be looking to climb? If i go, i'd love to do some trad as well, and i've been working some 11's by the CCC. dancingmadlybackwards will probably want to come too. dan

that sounds cool, its been a while since i've tried any 11s at DL, but i'll have talk to meggen(my fiance), she doesnt particularly like the CCC on the weekends (too many obnoxious people), we were thinking of headed over to the lost wall area (long a** climbs man). theres a climb over there called wild west homo thats looks good. as far as out trad level, neither of us have done it since last summer, so we are looking at 5.7,.8 tops. TR, heck we'll hop on anything. let me know what you wanna do. Jon

Ok new plans, looks like I leave for Yosemite on the 9th or 10th and will be there until June 6th. If you guys are free this weekend we will be climbing on the Jacks Fork river in Missouri. Bet you guys never heard of that place for climbing huh? I developed 6 routes on that river (do a google search on the river itself) but I can not give up the beta online, if I did tell you I would have to beat you with heavy mining equipment and leave you bleeding in the moonlight. I look forwrd to meeting any of you Chicago climbers this summer and also look forward to climbing with you guys in the Fall. Until then Cheers!!!

not snubbing...just ignoring. actually, getting back to the flow of things has been crazy, so most of the time i'm on the puter i either don't get a chance to write people much, or else i feel bad for doing it on working hours. but it's all good, i'm prolly going to be at the red memorial day weekend with some other 'sconyites, so we've got to hook up then. can you make it?

that trip sounds freaking awesome. if rachel can speak for me and where i'm going to go climbing, then i can speak for her and say that we're coming your way and doing some hardcore backpacking on your days off. like i said, i've wanted to do glacier for a long time...

bad news people, i might be out of commission for a while. i was doin some pocket pullin in the gym and heard somethin like a snap in my wrist (my fiance was standing about 20 feet away and heard it too). i dont think i busted anything, but it is really sore right now. im going to rest up and see if i am good to go on saturday. if i cant climb, i might go up anyways because i was thinking about setting up a highline between the leaning tower and the tombstone wall... we'll see, can you guys PM me your cell#s so i can call if we want to meet up? later Jon ps- if the tip of your middle finger is still numb a day after climbing, is that bad?

I know who you are; you are the father of God!! But which God? The aid climbing thing was a poor attempt at humor. Aid climbing would be rough with a bad finger. How about slab climbing? Or Ridge traversing?? I hope your finger heals!!

well, another saddening development has occured. my fiance has come down with a virus of some kind, so we will not be able to make it up to DL tomorrow. i need to stay back and take care of her, as well as my poor tendons. i will most likely be up in madison to rop some stuff of at my folks' house on saturday night, so if anyone wants to meet up for a beer or something, let me know.

jen...welcome, nice to finally have you on board here. to everyone else, the lake on sunday was absolutely amazing!!! (yes, it was worth all three exclaimation marks) it started snowing at about 8:15 when we were on our way there and I was tempted to turn around but my friend refused to turn back since she had made the committment to get up at 7:30 am. the weather cleared up just as we got there and other than the annoying fire and rescue people (i would rather have knowledgable climbers drag my ass out) we only saw one other rope all day. the weather was fantastic and the place was empty. one more note, watch out for the fuzz at devil's lake. i got a warning today for cruising along past the boat ramp at about 30 mph. enjoy the week...

I was up there on Saturday and the weather was really nice then as well. We made it to the Lost Face for some tall climbing and had a great time. I think it was almost sixty degrees out by early afternoon. It was very quiet and didn't really see any other climbers there.
