synthetics are made from petroleum byproducts. the pursuit of petroluem is the most devastating murderous and destructive force on the planet, on both humans and other animals alike. the mining industry which supplies us with our metal hardware is responsible for the most serious landscape and habitat destruction on the planet anyway way you look at it you are pretty much fuc@ed.
my suggestion to you if you are concerned with your lifestyle harming living creatures is to climb nude with no shoes, harness,or rope or hardware.

the REAL PURIST

ha ha ha adding fuel to the fire (no pun intended)

Lame...

O.K. I can play that game...

Not to mention all the coal, oil, natural gas, etc... that we are burning using these dang computers, or all the chemicals needed to grow the silicon crystals, and toxic waste generated by throwing out your computer that is just 2 years old...

I think the worst thing is your contribution to global warming with all the CO2 coming out of your pie hole while you are flapping your lips.

Do us all a favor and JUST STOP!!!

AND, it's ironic how so many people b!t*h and moan about the petroluem industry, yet they're still driving their vehichles everyday.

Hypocrisy, it's almost a way of life for some......

What I'm really interested in is what the landfills will be like in a a few thousand or million years...

Oil is the result of millions of years of organic matter decaying under pressure...

Imagine what the results of unknown mixtures of chemicals, organic matter, inorganics, etc, all reacting under pressure for centuries? Possibly the next civilizations' energy resource?

Anyway, the more we pollute, the better it is for the economy, right? That's why I'm going to only buy things that result in large amounts of waste and destruction to the environment...it's for the good of our country.
