Is early June too soon for alpine rock in Tuolunme this year? Any one know is it was a heavy or light snow year?

Currently 10 inches of snow at Dana Meadows, 0.3 inches at Tuolumne Meadows, 10.5 inches at Tenaya Lake.

I guess you know that Tioga Pass is supposed to open May 14 at noon.

lots of snow up in tuolumne still. the rock looks like much of it is probably climbable if you are into the ski/snowshoe approach. When I was there sunday the skiing was phenomenal but the road was only opened to the spring closure not all the way through so the standard domes will be a haul. Basically looking at an approach from about 1 mile east of the park gate. 3rd pillar of dana might be a possibility but I would haul snow shoes w/ you. Might be able to hit conness too but saddle bag lake road is not open yet either so add a few miles to the normal approach. I would bet the road will open all the way through soon though and the rock itself is pretty dry.

You should be able to hit several of the alpine rock routes by early June. The road will open May 14th at noon.
