I got a pair of anasazi's and the bottom sole is peeling off from the toe down already and its only been like 3 months. Its starting to come off pretty bad and its not like its wearing off.. Could i fix this by just melting the rubber together with a soldering iron or something? Cause i sure as hell dont wanna pay to resole them already :x

Get a shoe glue, like free sole, or goo, or something with some stick. Don't try and melt it back on, it won't work......

You should take them back to where you got them and exchange them for a new pair off the shelf. Delaminating soles is not a part of 'normal wear' so it should be no problem. That should work, but if it doesn't or you bought them far away, mail them to 5.10 and ask for replacements. A web search should get you their address/phone number. Good luck.

do you think I could get someone to give me a new pair even if I have been using them for awhile? I got these shoes new and they were delaminating, but did not want to be without a pair of shoes so I have just been using them...but I think its pretty sucky that they are like that.

you could use barge cement. Make sure the area you're putting it on is very clean, either heat them a little with a blowdrier or let them sit out in the sun for awhile then brush on a thin (and i mean as thin as possible) layer of the cement. Let them sit for about 15 minutes then press them together forcefully. (you can park your car on them for a couple of minutes if you have a very smooth surface or you can bang it together with a hammer. let them rest in a cool place for the night and you should be good to go. it might be hard to get it to come out perfect if it's your first time doing it, but once you get better it'll be no prob

Well thanks for the tips.. I might try the glue stuff and hopefully that'll work. I just realized it had been longer than I thought since I bought them, maybe like 5 months, but it first started peeling off like a month or two after I got em, so I dunno if they'll still exchange it for me, I shouldve acted sooner. Nonetheless, good thing I asked about melting it cause that was my plan, but now that I think of it that probably wouldve just screwed up my shoes and not helped at all

5 months doesn't make a difference. Personally, I don't think a year makes a difference, if you're not using them every day. Shoes should be warrantied against manufacturing defects. Early delamination is a manufacturers defect, and if I had been climbing steadily in shoes for 6 months and they just start peeling up, I'd demand a new pair. Of course, it gets a little blurrier if you let them bake in your car all the time, or if you drag the side of your foot. That's going to start to peel them sooner or later. I've returned 5.10 Newtons 8 months after I got them after the rubber started separating from itself, not even along a seam! I've been very happy with the other 3 pairs of 5.10s I've owned.

5.10's a cool shop. They've got an outlet at their manufacturing facility in Redlands, CA. Call 'em up and explain the problem and they might send you a replacement pair right away. http://www.fiveten.com/ If they blow you off, PM me; I work with the owner of a local climbing shop and I can get the 5.10 rep's name & number. Hope that helps, Smitty

Try to bring them back to where you got them. Otherwise bring them to a store which carries a large stock of the anasazis and won't mind giving you a pair from their inventory. They may (and should if you didn't buy them there) charge you a couple of bucks for shipping but you've already had them for three months so $10 for a new pair of shoes ain't bad. The store I work at deals direct with 5.10 so we have a good warranty policy and can replace most people's shoes on the spot but some smaller stores which don't carry as many shoes may have to send them back before giving you a new pair.
