What is the sizing like? close to street shoe? cant try them on and want to cash in on the current internet deal...But hate guessing a right size. So if you have mad rocks.. how do they compare in sizing to say sportiva and 5.10?

It totally depends on which shoe you are buying. I have a 8.5 phoenix that has streached almost too loose. I tried on a 9.0 loco and it was too small. For the record I wear a 9.5US street shoe

I would tell you to try them on at a store and buy them there. The reason is that my wife and I had both bought shoes from them, we both had a problem and had to send them in for replacements. When we recieved the replacement shoes (same model and size) neither of us could fit into them. They were probably a full size different than those we sent back but labeled as the same size. Trying them on in several stores I have noticed a wide range in their size pattern. Not very consistant at all.

I've heard sizing issues from one pair to another even within the same model. My personal experience is with the Flash. Same size as street shoes and they fit perfect even after 6 months of use.

I bought some MR Sharks 2 years ago actually had to go up a half size from my street shoe to a 12 (11.5 street), they fit tight and have been thoroughly worn, but have not stretched a bit. Last week I bought a new pair, this time the MR Frenzy Velcro, they have a different last and I had to size back down to my street shoe size, and I am assuming like the Sharks they will not stretch. Try before you buy!

Mine are 10's (street shoe = 10.5 or maybe an 11) They are probably a half size too small for me. They did not really stretch at all. I would recommend trying on some in the store then ordering online. You can always send them back if they dont fit like the others

Try before you buy! I agree completely. I wear a 9 1/2 or 10 size street shoe and have Mad Rock Phoenix and Frenzy velcros that are size 9--and these fit me fine. Both these Mad Rock models have a wider toe box than some of the other shoes do. I also have a pair of Mad Rock Sharks and (like the Flash) they are much narrower in the toe, so I had to size these larger. I went for size 9 1/2 in the Sharks and they still seem tighter than my Frenzys or Phoenix shoes do. Curt

i got the madrock flash in october of last year i think. i got them in the same size as my street shoe and they fit perfectly at first. about a month or 2 ago they stretched out enough that they're now probably a half size too big on me and move around a bit too much. if they we lace ups i would probably be able to get them tight enough but since they're velcro i can't seem to get them tight enough around my toes. i'm not sure about any of the other madrock shoes but if you get the flash i would actually try to go a half size smaller then your street shoe if you can bare it.

Rumor has it that Mad Rock changed the sizing awhile back. The shoes produced now are closer to the street size. That is my experience with the Phoenix and Frenzy lace Size 11.

I would highly recommend buying them from the store. You gotta try them on. I actually lucked out on my first pair(MR flash) and bought them off the internet, they were very tight at first but stretched enough to be just about right, and they were only half a size smaller than what i wear. Also, if you buy from REI, you can always take them back (100% gaurantee) if they stretch out, even if you've climbed on them. Or if you really want to save that money, try them on in the store, then order the exact shoe off the internet. Good luck

I wear 8.5 Spalding hiking shoes every day, and so I went with an 8.5 Mad Rock Flash...should have gone with a 9. Their stretching out over time, but are just a smidge too short (mainly my right foot, which is about 1/4" longer than my right). Hope that helps!

My street shoe size is 10.5 the 10.5 Flash fit me perfectly. I also recently tried a pair of Locos on and I had to go up one full size (11.5).

My first shoe was a Phoenix. Bought it at my gym and tried on 4 different sizes. My street shoe size is 13 on my Nikes and Timbs, but believe it or not, my MRs are 11

I could fit into a 12 in a Phoenix, and a 13 in the Flash is as tight as I can take. For the record, the 11.5's in the Mythos were about as tight as the Flash's in a 13. Try them on!

I dropped one size for my hooker zips and they're great. Street shoes are 13, hookers are 12.
