I've been using a buddy's tcu's when I go out climbing lately (on sandstone). I love 'em.
I was wondering, has anyone ever taken a fall on a tcu? Not a whipper on a #00 tcu, but a moderate 6 or 8 foot fall?
Please inspire my confidence...

Yes, 15 footer on a #3 TCU in sandstone. Held just fine. Although I have a friend that took a 20 footer on a #00 and it did not catch him. The lobes got all deformed and the entire unit was trashed. But that one is supposedly for body weight only.

Yeah, I can see how the #0 and #00 would be of much help in sandstone.

I took a fifteen to twenty ft fall on a 00 TCU 8 years ago and it held. This was placed in granite, but it should leave you no doubt of it's holding power if the placement is good. I've also have had it hold on short falls in Eldorado Canyon which is a hard sandstone. Hope this helps.

just cleaning them is hard enough! they are one of my favorite pieces of gear.

My partner fell on a #0 TCU. It pulled, the cam deformed, and he hit the ground. I don't trust them.
