The hardest GRADE climbed by a woman is Josune Bereziartu's ascent of Bain de Sang, 14d. She has also done a long V13/14 traverse. But Lynn Hill's free one day ascent of the nose is still one of the greatest, most difficult climbing accomplishments of all time, and no other person, male or female, has come close to repeating the feat.

Last I knew he had free'd every pitch, but only done the Great Roof on TR, and wasn't close to a ground up leading every pitch push, much less a one day redpoint... I found it interesting to hear Yuji say, after trying the Great Roof on toprope, that he'd "have to get a lot stronger"... granted finger size probably plays a role, but still -- damn!

In reply to: what is the hardest climb today climbed by a woman? Corporate ladder? I heard that pulling the glass ceiling is a pain...

Lynn Hill was the first PERSON ever to free climb The Nose (El Cap). I'd call that the hardest -- for it's day. And she did it in under twenty-three hours.

The hardest climb is always the first one, man or woman. Ratings are stupid.

In reply to: quote] Say this with me now, J-O-K-E. "J-O-K-E." Woulda been a funny joke, too, if it weren't so true.
