I am new to mountaineering, but not new to climbing. I am interested in climbing the zugspitze as my first attempt. My partner and I think it is a good choice to start out, mainly because one can descend via train if things hit the fan and a traditional descent is not possible. Is this a good idea? And where can i get maps of this mountain and those surrounding it?
