pawilkes, you're a fool. just because someone is in a fraternity/sorority doesn't make them a damn A&F wearing, Saab driving idiot. Cut people some slack. I know alot of Greeks that are really good climbers, so next time instead of hating, think first.. then speak. peace.love.burritos.

In reply to: there's such thing as a saab-driving idiot? All I know is that I drove a piece of crap Ford pick-up and couldn't afford to even utter the word "Saab". Unfortunately there is a stereotype of the frat brother that is easy to make fun of. It doessn't bother me. The reason is that to this day, I still get phone calls from friends from my college fraternity on a weekly basis. THIS IS AFTER 20 YEARS....and I live over a 1000 miles from all of them. Good friends are hard to find, much less, ones that last a lifetime.

As my friends in fraternities will tell you, "You're not actually purchasing friends. Anybody in a fraternity knows the money is spent on events, insurance, and things like that." So those couple hundred bucks actually pay for all the cheap beer and even cheaper women that you use to GET people to join the fraternity. You're not actually purchasing friends, just the means to get friends.

you would think that climbers would be able to look over all the stereotypes that society forces on us... but I guess not. When I joined a fraternity, it wasn't for cheap beer and 'cheaper women' it was a way to get involved on campus and to meet new people. Also I'm very sure that EVERY single girl that I know in a sorority wouldn't appreciate being refered to as 'cheaper women' guess this shows that there are dumb people everywhere.... but just for the haters out there.... PI KAPPA PHI! NEVER SAY DIE! PROUD TO BE A PI KAPP!

In reply to: Saab driving idiot. Cut people some slack. Take your own advice, fratboi. Saabs are well built, reliable cars with excellent cargo space. So, you can kiss my Saab driving ass.

PI KAPPA PHI! NEVER SAY DIE! PROUD TO BE A PI KAPP! FYI, frat boy: You're probably clueless to the reason fraternities illicit groans from most of the non-Greek population. At first glance, you've got an organization which professes to allow people to "get involved" and "meet new people", but upon closer inspection has a high degree of exclusivity to it. In actuality, this, there's not much difference between this:
In reply to: First grader 1: You're not my friend. First grader 2: Why not? First grader 1: Because you're not in my club. and this:
In reply to: Frat boy: My best friends are my frat brothers. GDI: Why's that? Frat boy: Because they're in my fraternity. And how did they get to be your frat brothers? They joined the club, and paid the dues. Nothing more special than that. You may think your frat brothers are just the best thing in the world, but I can promise you that you missed out on some even cooler people who weren't wasting their time in fraternities during college. I'd put my life on the line for my best friends, and they'd do the same for me. Did I have to join some club or fork over some money to get them? Nope, they're MY buddies, MY friends, and not my frat brothers. Wake up and smell the roses. Oh, and on a more personal note, all the frat boys I've ever met are only tough in a crowd. More than once I've pissed one off, and he's come back later with four or five "friends" from his fraternity. How cowardly can you get, that you gotta call your frat boys to do your fighting for you? Weak.
