Has anybody climbed Peregrine Arete in Hanging Canyon at Grand Teton Ntl. Park? I am thinking of giving it a try sometime over labor Day Weekend and would like any useful information. Good hand cracks, soild rock, sandbagged, etc.??? If your interested in going with me just let me know.

I climbed Peregrine Arete last summer. I really enjoyed it. I thought it protected well and was accurately rated. For the most part the rock is solid. There is some loose stuff on the 1st and 3rd pitches but nothing major. The crux 2nd pitch starts with a short layback flake and ends with a steep juggy face. The chimney on the 3rd pitch is a bit dirty. The real trick on route is to move to the right of the arete on the 2nd pitch. Don't get suckered into the easier looking terrain on the left.

Have fun.
