OK, so who is doing what--and when? Team Geritol (BobD, BVB and myself) are going bouldering Saturday. This is most likely going to involve the old "Bob Murray" bouldering areas around the base of Mt. Elden. If anybody else is interested in coming along, just let us know and we'll be happy to show you around. Oh and Verm is in Phoenix and coming over to my house for dinner tonight, so he will probably be around for the Flag shindig too.

My god Curt, what have you done to these folks? Nobody wants to hang with you except BVB and me. What's up with that?

Verm will hang with us too. I think the problem is that some of these people have bouldered with me before. I don't see what the big deal is though--they all stopped bleeding eventually. Hahahaha.

I'm for sure heading up to take in the weekend festivities..tommyguns and I will be coming up late friday night..I've never climbed at any of the places, so it will be an adventure for sure...definitely moderate stuff though..haven't heard many (if any) say they were going to the overlook. looks like it has lots of moderate stuff...sounds like i will be there for sure one day..does the pit have sport stuff "easy" enough for mere mortals? also, did i see someone mention a hike up humphries?? i'd definitely be down with that side venture. hump day is tomorrow...friday is coming...i'm STOKED. later

LOL. No need to explain -- I get that he's an influential guy who must have pioneered some of the bad assed routes and bouldering in AZ. My climbing experience only goes back a few years and my knowledge of AZ climbing history only gos about as far back as Waugh and Ficker. Looking forward to hearing more about it, though. I very much dig the historical aspect of this sport and I'm sure you fogies will school me sufficiently.

BTW -- who the F is this D'Antonio guy, anyway?

Well kids I've got to be in the Forks parking lot around 9am on saturday.
Kelly is sending my gear out to me via Friend-express.
So it looks like Trad on Sat. bouldering or Sport on Sunday for me.

Looking forward to meeting you Ed, you seem like a cool guy. But then again, this is the internet and nothing is what it seems.

It's crazier that Alice in Wonderland, bro. Just razzing you in the last post. I'm getting very stoked about this whole shin-dig. Finally got the wife-to-be to buy-in on the trip this weekend. I'll have a fearless 4 y/o rug rat in tow. I'll start her out on Mr. Slate, and I'm guessing she'll have a better chance of sending it than I will.

Too right, Bob. Especially with Ed, man. He's as gnarly, mean, spit-in-yer-eye kinda guy as they come!

DOOD.. Come talk to me at the gathering. I need someone up there with me in case I pass out from a pullmyfinger enema-thingie in the parking lot.

Ya think flip flops will be ok, or should I bring something more sturdy?

Oooohh....like PLATFORMS!! Then I wouldn't get my pedicure a-smudged.

Arf!
I can't believe Kristin's making me stay at home.
If I had a middle finger instead of a paw I would flip her off.

First of all, this person is hilarious! haha, middle finger instead of a paw! classic.

aaaah, down to bidniss.. Chris J. (Beercanclimber) has been harrassing the crap out of me to make sure I come to this shindig, and he was successful. I'll probably be sick *cough cough* on friday, therefore arriving sometime friday afternoon, hopefully in time for some bouldering. I can't wait to be climbing with Curt and co. again - watch out buddy, I have gotten considerably stronger than a year ago

Ed - ya mind bringing a tobacco product or two for me? I can't let you be the only dude with a cigar. Besides, it made you look way cool and tough last time, so I can't pass that up either.

Ah, I ought to spend more time on RC.com, you folks are funny as heck. It seems that most of my time recently has been spent on job-searching or car-tweaking.. Anyway, see you mofos soon.

I come to all you good ju-ju people seeking, well, good ju-ju.

The thermostat housing has cracked on the jeep. How Alex and I have the anti-Midas touch with cars, I just don't know. Anyway, it's going to be a tense couple of days trying to locate another one in town, but we're trying our damndest... good grief!

Hey everyone!

I am a loser- I will be the first to admit that. Not only have I been away from this site all summer, but -worse- I've only climbed a few times (they did not go well). So to those of you I blew off (Erica re planning a gathering), please accept my apology. I fell off the face of the earth due to life chaos, general flakiness, and frustration with my last few climbing experiences. But please- take me back!

Erica, I am thrilled to see this gathering happening and that so many people are showing up! Nice job. Through serendipity, it just so happens that my boyfriend and I are driving to New Mexico & back this weekend and plan to camp & climb in Flagstaff en route. I have no idea when we'll get there, but I really hope we can connect with all y'all! Is Fay Campground the place to find the debaucherous rc.comers?

I hope to see a bunch of you. If not, have fun & be safe.

-Jess

p.s. Ed, your daughter is the cutest thing ever. Is she climbing yet?

Ain't she? Step-daughter-to-be, actually. Finally got the fiance and daughter moved out here last month. It will be her first time to a crag.

Climbthedj -- got ya down for a smoke, but smkoing doesn't make you look cool. Being cool makes you look cool...and therefore I have no idea how Hillary's shot of me turned out as well as it did. I assure you -- I'm not cool.

Hillary!!! WFT?!?!?! You and Alex need to invest in a herd of yaks or mules for transportation. You'd spend less money and have a more reliable means of getting around. Sorry to hear it, girl.

The thread moving into the smoke arena is interesting to me. So, just to be clear, maybe some smoke signals could be sent to identify to ciger smoking area, the 'herf' area, and of course Erica's tent, though I have heard her tent still has the 420 dollar price tag on it. That would be all I need to find it. The keg standing will be near the smoking zone, I hope.

Ed is the most adorable man to ever need his back shaved!

I think a rickshaw or teaching my husky to pull me around on a sled would be a nice change of pace...
