I peruse the Highline pics often, wondering in the way that i often do, 'What would happen if that (albeit near to impossible) tape blew out, and you have just that lil leash and biner, and no back up knot? Im curious. :?:

I had wondered that myself...
what if the tape blew? it does not look like the system is redundant.

Looks can be deceiving. Almost all of the highliners that I've heard of have at a minimum a threaded main line (where you put another strand of say 9/16" webbing through the middle of the 1" webbing) and usually resort to multiple main 1" lines that are set in a method that allows them to be taped together making the appearance of a single line.
