Another photo from Acephale, The first is the original form factor, the second is stitched from about 8 different images to get a wider angle suitable for a poster. Please comment on framing, and feel free to edit and post your improvements. http://www.biffard.com/...es/img_4689_edit.jpg http://www.biffard.com/.../img_4689_poster.jpg Also let me know if the second image is too small, I can post a link larger version if you want to crop/edit it yourself.

this picture capured a great move, the picture itself doesn't convey movment the climber looks completly in controll even though his feet are cut back.. the climbers below give us a perspective of how high the climber is but then i am thrown off in the second picture because it looks as if the viewers are even perhaps higher then the belayer.. i don't know if this would mess up the proportions of the secend picture but i would suggest croping the bottom most segment up untill right below where the the cliff he is climbing enters the picture is this perhaps where you added an image? and if you do that perhaps take a little off the top too( just an idea)... great job i would never have guessed that the bottom pic was stiched from 8 images... oh and just incase you were wondering i like the lay of the second picute the best

i think the square format with the talent in the center does not have the same strength as the original one. I really love the original shot, except how the frame chops the viewers legs. i would prefer you add a bit to the bottom frame of the original one, and complete their legs, and thats a killer photo.

In reply to GirlClimb, yes, the peanut gallery is higher than the belayer.

i like the first one. the peanut gallery's expressions are key to the photo. you caught the climber in a great moment but the people on the ground add to the story in the photo. maybe re-crop the original in a similar manner but extend the bottom to include their legs.

I like the second one. It has a grander sense of scale. UB

I really love these shots! Both versions are great. I'm leaning toward the first one because it feels more intimate; almost as if you're right there. However, to make a fair comparison, it would be much easier if they were both the same (large) size. In my latest submission, (9/16) I cropped both the top and the bottom of my photo for the same reason--to maximize the expressions and sense of closeness in the 650-pixel tall image.
