In reply to: In reply to: In reply to: robmcc and diana should both go shirtless. Sounds good to me! :D Rob We could suffer through you just to see her? :D Wow. I feel so special. ;-) Still. No way. Besides the discomfort, potential for embarrassment, and potential for scrapes and bruises where none should be, imagine the sunburn! Ow! (I'm a redhead.)

i climb in shorts, since i forgot my capris in south africa, no shirt (it is too hot in florida), and a baseball cap. the reason for the cap is that it does a good job of keeping the sweat out of my eyes. i am waiting for franklin climbing to release their wristband since i would like one of those to wipe away the sweat.

i was in the climbing gym the other day when some boulderers were traversing around the entire gym (really annoying by the way) when one of them (the only one with a shirt on) stops in the middle of the traverse and takes his shirt off. it was quite funny as he almost fell taking it off. and why do people climb without shirts on while wearing a stocking cap in june, please explain this to me? ~

In reply to: i am waiting for franklin climbing to release their wristband since i would like one of those to wipe away the sweat. I thought you were joking about the Franklin wristband. Then I did a search and found this: http://www.franklinclimbing.com/...roduct/wristband.php A single wristband that retails for $5.95. Please tell me you're at least joking about waiting for a climbing-specific, overpriced wristband instead picking up a set now.

I plan to start climbing at the gym with my cotton pink thong. It's great when I get sweaty and you can see through it. Especially if I have a woodrow  I am extremely hairy and very pale which increases my sexiness without my shirt. Aside from my beer gut, narrow shoulders, large male breast and flat ass, I do believe I will start climbing w/out my shirt. I believe most women (and men) will enjoy atching me climb. My goal is to climb at every gym in every state over the next year. I hope to make the cover of Rock and Ice with this very feat! Have your cameras ready as I will be coming to a gym near you. Needed: belay parter that is willing to spot me as I boulder around the gym. Don't forget you towel, I'm slippery when wet :D

People only question why you're going shirtless if you're built good. They'll even ask, "are you showing off your arms?" if you use a tank top. There's a lot of haters out there. I get that same vibe when I read the original question that started this topic.

I wear a shirt in the gym just because I believe it's common courtesy to have a shirt on in a building, but if I'm outside and it's warm, the shirt definitely comes off. And I have a tattoo I could live without and hardly a ripped physique since I'm pretty darn wirey. And I've done the no shrit/beanie thing, mainly because when my back sweats with a shirt on, it makes a sticky mess that's rather annoying. Without a shirt, you can avoid that problem, yet the hat still keeps you warmer, especially if it's windy out.

Well, im sure someone has the same opinion as me, but I havent seen it yet, so here goes. I think everyone is going to where what they like. For me, if its hot, its capris/jeans and no shirt, if its cold, longsleeve and capris/rolled up jeans. Once in a while youll see a beanie on me.... but not often

shirts get in the way...shirts make me sweat more...I like to show off my body long pants get in the way of my shoes and are very constricting. Shorts ride way up and expose my knees so that they get torn up. Capris take the constriction and "in the wayness" out while still covering my knees and not riding up (can also be rolled up pants of any sort).

reason #1 why dudes not wearing shirts in the gym sucks: picture it: summer in the gym, it's a million degrees, but too busy to climb outside after work, I hit the gym with my buddy. He climbs an overhanging lead wall, once. Then decides to do another lap, sans shirt. As he goes up, he shakes an arm out and PLOP - - a bead of sweat on my face. So I move out of range, except not, as the angle of the climb brings him back over my head and PLOP another drop of sweat, this time on my shoulder, so I have the proof for when he comes down. :? geez, guys. wear a shirt. support Prana, Columbia Sportswear, Mad Rock, REI and all the other corporate folks designing tight shirts that make you look studly. It's downright patriotic to buy more, you know. . . t.

I have some cords that i have turned into capris. I like to be able to see my feet, and the capris give my knees some protection while keeping me cool.

Shirtless - it's cool, and it's kool! Capris - see feet...yes, looks kool..yes, hardon...yes I think I am ditching the capris and reaching for my speedo the next time I climb at the gym. Then my partnber can look up and see my harry sweaty ass and teabags, but will keep a bucket handy for lunch's rebirth! Think any of the ladies might get all hot and bothered? Maybe the fems will get hot and take their shirt's off too, but I doubt it!

WEll There is a group of islamic girls in the gym climbing covered like mummies. You can go that way if you prefer. I like the smell of chalk and sweat (in the morning)...smells like victory. jokes apart, I like seeing a ripped body, makes me think of working out harder, same thing with a female body, makes me think about ...working out harder...:) As for the sweat..big deal, just bring a towel and dry it up after that V-hard Bodies are nice (when they are nice) so show them.

This topic is so last year! My old profile pic (taken 10/2004): http://www.rockclimbing.com/...p.cgi?Detailed=41246 My new profile pic (taken 9/2005): http://www.rockclimbing.com/...p.cgi?Detailed=60711 I may need to go back the the shirtless w/capris thing. the old pic got a higher rating  Seriously, the Hind shirt I'm wearing on the second photo is probably better than shirtless. On a sunny day it keeps you cooler, it lets the breeze through, and it dries really fast. Just got a couple for less than $10 each at the REI clearance sale.
