Ever tried searching the routes section of this very site? You don't even have to trouble yourself with using google. http://www.rockclimbing.com/...hp?CountryStateID=30 I would suggest starting in the section entitled "South West" on the above linked France Route List.

tell me more precisely where you wanna go, and I ca give you a list. There are many many areas, but the site here is poor because I've not enough time and people usually ask for the Alps, SE, or Bleau... in the Pyrénées near Tarascon : Quié is great and multipitch routes evrywhere... north-east of Bordeaux near Angoulême : Les Eaux Claires, Bompart near Poitiers : Beauvoir and Angles-sur-Anglin are nice. in Dordogne (SE of Bordeaux) Céou (near Castelnau) is famous for being Robyn Erbesfield's crag. in the Pays-Basque, fantastic limestone crags everywhere (nice online topo too). thomas

 sorry if I laugh, but it's the flatest area in France, sand everywhere, not even a boulder! You'd better surf, bodyboard, or bodysurf, or play frisbee and kite! But, hopefully 50 miles south is Pays-Basque. If Pays-Basque is famous for the surfing spots, it's really great for sport climbing, and for bouldering too. I've been there many times, and it's one of the most lovely places in France. check the website http://euskalade.free.fr/ I'm happy for you if you're gonna touch the Basque limestone!

I would strongly suggest "Verdon du gorges" in the south east of France. It is all sport as far as I know. Amazing routes up to around 400m high and in other parts down to as low as single pitch. When I was there I spent most of my time in Bauchet (single pitch area, grades 4b-8b+) which had alot to offer. Climbing is better in winter as summer is really hot and sunny. The nearest city is Marseilles (2hrs south west). You need a car as the gorge is big and there is no public transport. We hired one from marseilles. If you some how get bored with verdon you can drive another 2hrs north to ceuse which is also really good. Other then that I am useless for sport climbing in France. Im living in Fontainebleau right now and can say (along with basically every other climber that comes here) its well worth a look of you are at all keen on bouldering. Only 40min south of Paris and bouldering you would normally only dream of. Good luck
