This past Summer I did some hiking west of the Springs. One short afternoon hike that I did was in an area (on the map) called "The Crags". Along the trail there were some awesome looking climbs on the North side of the valley. I've looked pretty extensively for information on these climbs but have had no success. Does anyone know the area I am talking about or where I could get more information about routes in that area?

In reply to: Does anyone know the area I am talking about no clue, could you try to be a little more specific. Which State would be a start...?

I have not been near the crags in many years, but if they are the ones I remember, they are not worth the trouble. If you're in Colorado Springs, just go to The Garden of the Gods.

Wrong! There is a fair amount of good climbing on the west side of Pike's Peak. Ask around at Mountain Chalet in Colorado Springs.

Thanks for clearing this up. Like I said, it's been years since I've been there and now that you mentioned the West side of Pikes Peak, I realized I wasn't even close to the right area. I lived up on Cadillac Drive and the crags I was thinking about were north west of there.

Thanks for the tips. I've been wanting to climb Garden of the Gods, but am a little turned off by the herds of spectators. This area was fairly secluded and quite a bit cooler in the Summer months. Its probably a long shot but I've always enjoyed trying out new areas.
