I was thinking about checking out the boulderbash next weekend at VE in St. Paul. I've never climbed in a competition before, and I don't really know what to expect. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their experiences with indoor comps and perhaps this specific competition. Is it worth going?

Hey, I think you should check it out, even if you dont want to compete. You could learn something from watching and maybe meeting some other cool MN climbers in your area. What struck me the most after my first comp was how tingly and raw my finger tips were because wasnt used to climbing for 4 hours strait. Whether you choose to climb or not, you would probably have a good time going and checking it out.

Thanks guys. I think I will probably go check it out. Although I've never climbed competitively, I think it will be a great way to push myself to climb harder. Now I have to decide which category to register in. I've climbed up to .10b on top-rope, but then again, I haven't climbed since early October, so I'm a little uncertain of my current abilities. Anyways, thanks again for the input and hopefully I'll see you there, metolius21. Reggie
