I'm one of those annoying n00b married-with-kids-weekend-warrior-types. Sorry. I started as a gym climber at school in 1997 and climbed for a couple of years, but gave it up when I graduated because I didn't have the money to buy my own gear. I re-discovered the sport September '03 and became permantently addicted.
Now that I've re-started climbing, I have been taking it outdoors. I finally started trad climbing in the summer of '05. I've led up to 5.8 trad (haven't tried anything harder), but I'm still trying to improve my skill and confidence. My long-term goal is to be a solid mid-grade trad leader and tick some awesome climbs with my (now 4-year-old) son and (now 2-year-old) daughter.
