No matter how recently I was in the hills desperately gasping for breath, clawing at the rock for holds it is always too long ago. I don\'t know how a 4am slog up a fourteener when I am too hung over to drive is a good idea. Maybe it is just a sort of collective stupidity or hysteria that converts those tortured hours into what my friends and I talk about constantly until the next alarm ringing at 3:15 am.
