b. 1960, 3rd ever roped climb was NWF Half Dome...anybody else done a Grade VI at 15 years of age as their 3rd climb? Lived in the Valley for 12 years (worked at the Ahwahnee) during which time I lived and breathed crack climbing and the ocasional run-out slab route...Astroman 6 1/2 hours dorm-to-dorm before work, Lost Arrow Chimney in winter, freed most of the Nose, been stuck halfway up the Salathe in a blizzard...then I saw a pic of Ceuse in a climbing mag and sold my rack...7 climbing trips to Europe since then and counting, I'm good for beta for Yosemite free climbs/easy walls, and crags in Spain and France. "calcareo" is Spanish for limestone
