I have relocated to Cedar Rapids and am much more happy with the climbing situation. Kind of on hiatus from the sport, simply enjoy climbing when time permits...

<P>At this point in the game I would have to call myself a
<B>frustrated</B> outdoor enthusiast who is <I>geographically
challenged</I>. Most of the sports I enjoy are considered unorthodox
by people in my area of the country and I have difficulties gaining
access to those sports let alone finding someone to partner with.
Maybe I should take up animal killing or watching NASCAR? Regardless, I've
been climbing outdoors for about three years now so I'm fairly new to
the sport. I'd been toying with <A HREF="http://www.rei.com/stores/bloomington/pinnacle.html">gym</A>
climbing for about 5 years intermittently before I took the plunge,
bought some basic gear, and began top roping a manmade <A HREF="http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/listArea.php?AreaID=2495">tower</A>
near where I live. Since then I've enjoyed many climbs in the St.
Croix Falls <A HREF="http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/listArea.php?AreaID=1899">Interstate
Park</A> area of Minnesota and Wisconsin, <A HREF="http://www.climbingdevilslake.com/">Devil's
Lake</A> Wisconsin, a few climbs in the <A HREF="http://www.exumguides.com/dayclimbs/baxters.shtml">Tetons</A>,
some <A HREF="http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/listArea.php?AreaID=397">Iowa
stuff</A> and some <A HREF="http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/listArea.php?AreaID=2494">local
stuff</A> in quarries and along <A HREF="http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/listArea.php?AreaID=4180">river
bluff</A> formations. I know there aren't a lot of climbers in Iowa,
