Started on ice 5 years ago to prep for my first mountain = Rainier. Rock climbing followed, as something to do 'in the meantime' between ice climbing seasons and annual mountaineering trips. Love it all, and enjoy meeting new people for climbing and making contacts with climbers in other states since I do travel alot.

First, I'll have to ask why you're coming out here in the first place. Second, you'll need a car and be willing to drive 4-7.5 hours for some good to great rock, 6.5 - 7 hours for some great ice, and 12 hours for the next best thing to alpine. Third, I can offer colorful beta on all that.
