I started climbing at Seneca Rocks, WV on the 4th of July weekend of 1990 after calling the Dept. of Tourism and asking the infinitely naive question "Is there anywhere to go rock climbing around here?"
Oh, yes. There was. And I was hooked.
In the ensuing years, I've spent some climbing a lot, as in up to 5 days a week, and some not at all for years at a time. Every few years I start all over again. :)
I invariably start climbing again late in the season and actually enjoy climbing in the cold, so I'm one of those oddballs out on the rocks in the middle of winter. Then again, winter in NC isn't exactly all that bad. ;)
