Well, it's still sporadic, but I've been posting enough on here lately I figured I'd thrown in some words about myself. Technically been climbing since 1996, I'd say I've been serious about it since about 2000. I sport, trad, and boulder year round, ice climb in the winter, do more and more alpine climbing (rock and ice), and have some aid climbing experience. I've done a few FAs and been on the belay end of many more (mostly trad with bolted anchors and the occasional protection bolt) and am increasingly competent with both a hand and power drill. Primary interests right now are trad and alpine, with sport and bouldering thrown in as a change of pace and to keep getting stronger.
Pretty typical all-rounder, I love the physical movement and power of sport and bouldering, and the mental challenge (as well as the often-unique movement) of trad, ice, and aid. I did a ton of backpacking in college, so I also love getting back into the mountains and am really getting hooked on alpine climbing.
Besides climbing, I spend most of my time working on my PhD in political science (my focus is on environmental political philosophy). Been living in SLC for almost five years now with my wonderful boyfriend, though I'm originally from New England (grew up near Boston, college in Maine). Current list of favorite climbing areas would include: San Rafael Swell, City of Rocks, Bugaboos, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Red Rocks, and New River Gorge (even though I haven't been back there in years).
