Review 4 out of 5 stars

I actually have the DropZone II. I think the pad's pretty good, not the best. The pad itself hasn't failed me (except when I missed it falling/bailing off a highball). Thick enough to pad my falls, and I'm the "fat kid" out of the guys I boulder with (6'-0", 170 lbs). Easy to pack up and go from problm to problem. My only complaint is how easily the carry straps will disconnect from the pad. Good for travel I guess, but it's kind of a pain everytime you pick up the pad to shoulder it and both straps are loose. It's performed like a champ under me though!

This pad is amazing! I love it! The best pad I have ever used. I have no complaints.

A year and a half of hard use and this pad is still great. Most pads pack out and become much thinner after hard use also corners and straps breakdown and become problems. No such problems with this baby. The buckles are bombproof metal e-clip type design and are pretty easy to use. My only complaint is the thick cordura type denier on the landing side which is still very abrasive. Something a little softer for wiping shoes and lounging on would be better though probably not as durable. Also the pad is so burly that it doesn't unfold and lay flat very easy but rather stays in a u-shape when unbuckled. I thought this nagging problem would go away as it softened, but it is till pretty rigid.

I can definately attest to this pad's durability. On a recent road trip to Rocktown, We packed so much crap in the car that we decided to use a roof carrier to free up some space. The crash pad seemed to fit nicely wedged between the bars of the roof rack and secured under the carrier straps. Well, it wasn't secure enough, because a few hours down the highway a car flagged us down and said about a mile back he'd seen the crash pad fly off the roof of the car, bounce around the road a bit, and then get run over by a big van. When we finally found the crash pad, it had only some minor scrapes and a broken plastic buckle.
