DRY TOOL TEST ONLY - WILL REFINE AFTER ICE.

The tool has some flex in in when weighted with just one hand. It's a solid shaft of carbon steel so it's thinner, but apparantley less rigid than bent tubular steel. The upper grips take a toll on your hands unles you're using heavy gloves which dull sensitivy and control anyway. They have good control pointing and sticking from the lower grip which is surprisingly comfortable. Overall, a new twist on the leashless market, but be warned: The manufacturer's material included with the tool claims the tool is usable for 1-3 seasons depending on use. The pick is attached by bolts that are crushed, so changing picks does not seem to an option (spare picked not offered at the time of this review). This seems to be the first disposable tool on the market. I hear good things about ice performance, so I'll check back once I get there.
