Mammut Smart

I am very satisfied. I found it easier to feed rope to the climber than using the Gri-gri (which is heavier and more expensive). I have not stopped any leader falls with it but it holds the climber's weight when locked into position. It takes some getting used to (nothing similar to the Gri-gri).

Trango S Evo - ideal multi-purpose boot.

The current version of the shoe includes a gore-tex lining and is an ideal multi-purpose boot for long days of easy-moderate mountaineering (up to D snow, AI3 in my case and 5.8 rock - the latter well-protected). Good alternative to the Garmont Tower GTX if you have wider feet than the Garmont sole.
Of course, they are light so don't take them if you plan:
- cold (winter and/or altitude)
- scree (they have some stiching rather low on the boot that will not survive intensive scree descents).
